This is my 2nd set of microfiber sheets, the 1st being another brand. When it came time to replace the aforementioned 1st set, I decided to indulge my tendency toward OCD, and do a little research into microfiber sheets. I discovered 2 important factors to consider when choosing microfiber sheets: 1- the GSM [grams per square meter] similar to "denier" in cotton sheets and 2- OEKO-TEX certification [the "fabric is tested and certified to be free from harmful levels of more than 100 substances known to be harmful to human health" . I discovered that the majority of "microfiber" online sheet retailers either do not offer the information or just flat out "don't know" if the fabric is OEKO-TEX certified nor do they know the GSM of the sheets they sell! [That's like buying cotton sheets at $50 up without knowing what denier they are! ] That brings me to why I chose South Shore sheets. This company plainly states on their site the GSM of their sheet sets and whether or not they are OEKO-TEX certified. Their prices are certainly competitive, the quality outstanding [soft, elastic all way around bottom of fitted sheet, true to size] and the selection very good. What's not to like in that!
